Happy Social Media Day!

Today is “Social Media Day” around the world. Over 5,000 people have registered to attend the 500 meet-ups across the world, and even more are expected to attend. Here is a message from the CEO of one of the world’s most popular websites (and social media thought-leader), Pete Cashmore of Mashable.com:

I am so happy to see this type of thing happening, as social media is being transformed daily. I strongly believe that social media is NOT just another platform where we share stuff, but a fundamental shift in the way that we communicate as human beings. In the next 10 years, I foresee more digital agencies filled with younger social media experts, social media meet-ups becoming the new business lunch, and geolocation-based platforms like Foursquare (who just locked in $20 Million in venture capital) leading the mobile-web traffic rankings. Lastly, I foresee Boulder, Colorado as the most connected city the world.

Happy Social Media Day!

Vuvuzelas on YouTube

If you thought the 2010 World Cup was a deafening experience because of the Vuvuzelas horns, wait until the 100′s of thousands of videos that are uploaded onto Youtube daily start to include the Vuvuzela option. If you haven’t noticed,  YouTube is now offering aVuvuzela option that viewers can click while watching a video–and they hearing a Vuvuzela noise. Check it out below:

Hundreds of Hipsters Gather in Anticipation for Apple’s iPhone 4

Boulder, Colorado has quickly become one of America’s tech hubs. Accordingly, it was no surprise to see hundreds of hipsters camping outside the Apple Store in Boulder’s 29th St. Mall–all waiting in anticipation for Apple’s new iPhone 4G. Apple was prepared for this type of madness and put up what I call “The Black Curtains of Hiding-Awesomeness.” Boulder’s Apple store opens at 7am tomorrow, but will the iPhone 4G be a hit? Time will tell, but the anticipation is promising.
